Morning depart for Solola to visit one of the major market centers. Day 4 TUE or SAT. ATITLAN-ANTIGUA:

Morning motor-launch trip on Lake Atitlan - "one of the most beautiful lakes in the world". with its 3 volcanoes in the background -San Pedro, Toliman and Atitlan. You will visit one of the twelve interesting indigenous lake shore villages. Their inhabitants are for the most part descendants of the Cakchiquel and Tzutil Indians. Today, you will go back more than 2,000 years in time when you visit Tikal. This morning you will drive through the eastern part of Guatemala, via the states of El Progreso and Zacapa, to arrive at the border with Honduras. After immigration formalities, you will drive to Copan, one of the most fascinating Mayan ruin sites. You will be allowed to explore and marvel at the beautiful stellae and majestic temples, including a complete ball court.

Wednesday

After breakfast you will return to Guatemalan territory to visit the archaeological site of Quirigua. Some of the most interesting and beautiful Mayan stellae are found at Quirigua in the state of Izabal. In the afternoon you will return to Guatemala City.
