APR 25 SAT – PANAMA

After breakfast transfer to Panama City to tour the vibrant and cosmopolitan city built by Pedro Arias Davila, a Spanish Governor in 1519. It has been considered one of the most important cities of the Americas. The full day city and canal tour will give you an opportunity to see the most relevant sites of Panama City and the Panama Canal Area. We will also visit the Miraflores Locks & Canal. An expert canal guide will take us back in time as we enjoy a breathtaking view of the 8th wonder of the World. This tour will also include a visit to the Panama Canal Museum. Lunch at the Bucannero restaurant and dinner at the Bay View Restaurant and overnight at the Miramar Hotel. (B, L& D)
 

APR 26 SUN – PANAMA/GAMBOA RAINFOREST RESORT

Early breakfast at the hotel followed by a 45 minute transfer to the Gamboa Rainforest Resort Hotel. Upon arrival we will take an Island tour where we boat through the Panama Canal into secret waterways to find hidden islands. With good luck we may spot a few Cappuccino and Howler monkeys. Occasionally, they become curious of visitors and venture down to take a closer look. The resort is a five star property with views of the Chagras River and Gatun Lake. After lunch at the Lagartos Restaurant at the hotel we will enjoy an aerial tram tour. Experience the verdant rainforest ascending some 280 feet from the shadowy forest floor traveling a distance of some 1,200 meters. Dinner and overnight at the Gamboa Rainforest Resort. (B, L & D)
 

APR 27 MON – PANAMA

After breakfast, early AM transfer by bus to the pier. The vessel used will be accompanied by a larger vessel and a Canal Pilot as we navigate two sets of locks. Your journey on this historic canal will end at the Gamboa Dredging Division, where the River Chagres joins the canal and the Gatun Lake opens up in front of us. Lunch served on board. Dinner and overnight at the Gamboa Rainforest Resort. (B, L & D)
 

APR 28 TUE – GAMBOA RAINFOREST RESORT/EMBERA/PLAYA BONITA

After breakfast at the Corotu restaurant, embark on your journey to experience the indigenous village & people of the Embera tribe. You will ride a “piraguas” (dug out canoe) up river to the community. There you will experience the history and culture of these indigenous people through traditional dances, craftsmanship and includes a typical lunch. Here you will have the opportunity to try an ancestral custom in the form of a tattoo with vegetable seed extract that the indigenous use to adorn their bodies. NOTE: If weather conditions permit a visit to a nearby waterfall will be made. Water shoes and bathing suit necessary and you may encounter slippery wet rocks. Late afternoon you will have a 45 minute transfer from the Gamboa Rainforest Resort to the Intercontinental Playa Bonita Resort. APR 29 WED – PLAYA BONITA

DEC 5 FRI. – GUATEMALA/ANTIGUA

After breakfast, a sightseeing tour of the Capital City. You will visit La Merced Church, the Presidential Palace, the National Theater, Modern Civic Center, the residential areas and many other places of interest in old and new Guatemala. In the afternoon drive 45 minutes to the charming town of Antigua. The remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight at the beautiful Camino Real Antigua Hotel. After a brief inspection enjoy dinner at the incredibly beautiful Casa Santo Domingo Monastery Hotel (B & D)
 

DEC 6 SAT. – ANTIGUA

Breakfast at Camino Antigua followed by a sight seeing tour of the charming town of Antigua the former Spanish Colonial Capital of the country and today a national monument of the Americas. Founded by the Spaniards in 1543, nowadays Antigua is a beautiful blend of ruins, restored colonial buildings, and new buildings in colonial style. It was declared “Monument of America” in 1965. Visit the Central Plaza that is surrounded by the antique Cathedral, the Municipal Government Building, and the Palace of the Captains General; colonial churches and monasteries, primitive foot-looms where colorful textiles are woven, and a jade factories where this stone is worked into beautiful jewelry. Lunch a Porta Hotel Antigua with the remainder of the day at leisure. Overnight at Camino Real Antigua. (B & L)
 

DEC 7 SUN. – ANTIGUA/CHICHICASTENANGO/ATITLAN

Early AM breakfast followed by a 2 hr drive to Chichicastenango to see one of the main reasons for a trip to Guatemala, the market which is held twice a week and deserves its fame. You will also see the church of Santo Tomas where the Mayan Quiche observe unique religious customs. Lunch at the Mayan Inn and drive 2 1/2 hr to the beautiful Lake Atitlan. Dinner and overnight at Porta Del Lago. (B, L & D)
 

DEC 8 MON. - ATITLAN

AM transfer to the Hotel Atitlan a for brief inspection and breakfast followed by a beautiful boat ride where you will go back in time as you cross the lake to the town of Santiago de Atitlan. Enjoy a walking tour and some shopping before returning to the dock. The remainder of the day on your own. Dinner and overnight Porta Del Lago Hotel. (B & D)
 

DEC 9 TUE. – ATITLAN/GUATEMALA

After breakfast at the Del Lago drive approximately 3 hrs returning to Guatemala City. Remainder of day at leisure. Overnight at the Camino Real Hotel. (B)
 

DEC 10 WED. – GUATEMALA/TIKAL/GUATEMALA – TAG #01 6:30AM/7:10AM & TAG #02 6:30/7:15PM

Today you will go back more than 2,000 years in time when you visit the Tikal National Park. Early morning you will be picked up at your hotel for transfer to the airport to board the flight to Flores, Petén . On arrival, our representative will take you to the Mayan City of Tikal which is located in the center of the National Park that bears its name, and has an extension of 222 square miles. Tikal was inhabited from 600 BC., till 869 AD. Its highlight was between 690 till 850 AD., a time period known by archaeologists as the Late Classic. Visit the Twin-Pyramid Complexes “Q” and “R”, Lost World Complex where the Great Pyramid and Temple 5C-49 are the most important. Also, visit Temple III and the Palace of the Windows, the Great Plaza, squared off with the pyramids of the Grand Jaguar and the Masks, the Palace of the Nobles, and Pyramid IV. This one is the highest of the Mayan pyramids, from its top a complete view of Tikal and its surrounding jungle can be enjoyed. Lunch at the Camino Real Tikal Hotel, then mid-afternoon transfer to Santa Elena’s Airport to board the flight to Guatemala City. On arrival, you will be transfer to the Westin Camino Real Hotel for overnight. (Box B & L)
